On the first Saturday and third Sunday of every month at 9am, you can find me with the Los Feliz Trashbusters. We're a group of volunteers led by the heroic Mike Hain, and we roam the neighborhood with buckets, grabbers, and brooms, busting trash till we can't anymore - or until it's 10am, whichever comes first.
I periodically post things on the Trashbusters Instagram with the goal of making it as weird as possible. Sometimes, I solicit "trashy pictures" from people in the group and dub them "Trash of the Week.” Other times, I spend way too long recording my voice saying “trash” over all the women’s names in Lou Bega’s Mambo No. 5 and attach that to a post.
Through the group, I've met great people, found fascinating trash, and heard truly ridiculous puns from Mike. Come join us! I can’t recommend it highly enough.
