When I moved in with my partner Kayla, we wanted a second bedroom so friends and family could stay with us. But we also wanted an office so we wouldn’t drive each other nuts working from home. So, I bought a queen size Murphy Bed hardware kit from Rockler and got to work building a custom wall-length cabinet to house it.
It wasn’t an easy project, especially because my workshop was 14 miles away, and I had to build everything there and then cart it over. And because my apartment's corners turned out to be nothing near ninety degrees. And because the first hinge Rockler sent me was slightly defective (they gave me a replacement for free). But I'm really proud of how it turned out, and combined with the motorized standing desk that I’m writing this at right now, it’s made the room a really nice office.
