My friend Brandon had a tiki-themed party for his 40th birthday. Naturally, I built him a tiki bar that he didn’t ask for out of leftover plywood, disassembled bamboo fencing, PVC, burlap, and straw thatching I found online. It also has programmable lights and nautical baubles.
Since I didn’t think Brandon would enjoy me installing a permanent tiki bar on his patio without his consent, I built it to be collapsible. It comes apart, folds flat, and fits in my car.
It was a real hit at the party! Now I think it lives folded up on the side of Brandon’s house, lying in wait for future tiki parties.
